Governor's School for the Arts

The Governor’s School for the Arts provides hands-on arts opportunities for the state’s talented high school students who are dancers, actors, instrumental and vocal musicians, creative writers, future architects or visual artists. GSA’s primary components include a three-week summer residential program, regional arts workshops and master classes, college and career day and an artist roster of performing and visual artists made up of GSA alumni.

The mandate of the Kentucky Heritage Council is to identify, preserve, and protect the cultural resources of Kentucky. The Council also maintains continually updated inventories of historic structures and archaeological sites and nominates properties to the National Register of Historic Places. Through its various programs the Council strives to show how historic resources contribute to the heritage, economy, and quality of life of all Kentuckians.

Kentucky Venues

The Kentucky State Fair Board promotes the progress of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and stimulates public interest in the advantages and development of the Commonwealth by providing the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center and the Kentucky International Convention Center for exhibitions, conventions, trade shows, public gatherings, cultural activities, and other functions. In managing these facilities, the Kentucky State Fair Board resolves to advance Kentucky's tourism industry and economy while serving the entertainment, cultural and educational interests of the public.

Creative Services

The Office of Creative Services assists the efforts of the Cabinet of Tourism, Arts and Heritage and many state agencies by providing photography, audio and video production, location sound, and graphic design. The Photography Section's staff covers numerous events and assignments, and is based in a lab with custom film processing and printing services. The Audio-Video Section supplies camera crews, while also producing turn-key audio and video projects. The Multimedia Section ensures public and media events are conducted with a professional sound system, while the Graphic Arts Section designs publications, logos, and just about anything else agencies need for use in print.
