Governor's School for the Arts

The Governor’s School for the Arts provides hands-on arts opportunities for the state’s talented high school students who are dancers, actors, instrumental and vocal musicians, creative writers, future architects or visual artists. GSA’s primary components include a three-week summer residential program, regional arts workshops and master classes, college and career day and an artist roster of performing and visual artists made up of GSA alumni.

Kentucky Hertiage Council Logo

Kentucky Heritage Council

The mandate of the Kentucky Heritage Council is to identify, preserve, and protect the cultural resources of Kentucky. The Council also maintains continually updated inventories of historic structures and archaeological sites and nominates properties to the National Register of Historic Places. Through its various programs the Council strives to show how historic resources contribute to the heritage, economy, and quality of life of all Kentuckians.

Kentucky Historical Society

The Kentucky Historical Society operates this multimillion dollar museum and education complex. Trace Kentucky's 12,000-year history through more than 3,000 items in the signature exhibition "A Kentucky Journey." Dig for your family roots in the commonwealth's premier genealogical research library. Learn about Kentucky's leaders in the Toyota Kentucky Hall of Governors. Watch for traveling exhibits in Keeneland Gallery. Special children's events and adult programs are scheduled throughout the year.

The Center is open Tues. - Sat., 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. year-round. Library hours are Wed, – Sat., 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. year-round. Tours of the Old State Capitol and the Kentucky Military History Museum are included in your ticket and begin at the Center. Both operate on seasonal hours during winter. The Kentucky State Fair Board promotes the progress of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and stimulates public interest in the advantages and development of the Commonwealth by providing the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center and the Kentucky International Convention Center for exhibitions, conventions, trade shows, public gatherings, cultural activities, and other functions. In managing these facilities, the Kentucky State Fair Board resolves to advance Kentucky's tourism industry and economy while serving the entertainment, cultural and educational interests of the public.
